How long have you been running?
Running since I was 9 years old.
Why do you run? When was the moment that you identified as a runner?
-I run mostly because I love it. I enjoy pushing myself and my limits. Not matter what I always feel better when I finish a long hard run. I would say identified myself as a runner pretty early on but mainly after my first year of cross-country. I was the slowest one on the team and didn’t get to run in the state meet. I was devastated and realized how much it really meant to me. After that I took running more seriously and trained harder making it on the state team every year following.
When was your first run group? What keeps you coming back?
My first group run was about 2 years ago when I moved to New Orleans from Lafayette. I keep coming back because it is really motivating to see I am not the only person crazy about running. Also, I enjoy running with others as well because it pushes me to go faster and farther.
What is your favorite local race?
Favorite local run would have to be the Spillway Classic
What is your favorite aspect of the New Orleans running community?
I love that there are so many beautiful places to run in the City. Also, I love that there are always running groups or some type of race almost every week.
What is your current running goal?
I want to run a Marathon
What is your favorite hobby?(not running of course)
You have a blank plane ticket, where do you go and why?
If I had a blank plane ticket I would go to Brazil. I heard it is a good place for day drinking! No, I really just love the culture of the people and it is beautiful.
