Gavin, No stranger to the running community of the state of Louisiana, attended St. Paul’s High School in Covington, Louisiana; part of the greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area. While at SPS, Gavin lead his team to 4 team state champions

hip titles, in cross-country, while earning 6 individual titles (XC and track) during his stay there. After high school, he went on to run for Louisiana State University, where he was a member of the 2004 LSU men’s indoor national championship track team, also recording the 4th fastest mile performance in the school’s history (4:02); 25th fastest time in the nation that year (2006). In 2002, Gavin launched a website, LouisianaRunning.com, for reasons being: both the lack and access to a central source of information, for the fans, and participants of the sport in the state of Louisiana. Gavin and Radecker gather this information by traveling (out of pocket) to the various regions of the state to bring media coverage to their sport and corresponding hype.

Following graduation in 2006, Gavin went on to work in several specialty running stores, including: Varsity Sports in Mandeville, Louisiana, Foot Traffic in Portland, Oregon, and Varsity Sports in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He also worked as a volunteer assistant coach for

ULM in 2007, and his alma mater LSU, in the fall of 2009. Gavin continues to train for the illusive sub 4 minute mile, which he plans to take on in the spring of 2012.

Gavin’s experience with various specialty running stores around the country, his far reaching following through his web site which specialize both in the coverage and promotion of the sport in the state of Louisiana, coupled with his lifelong association and passionate involvement, through coaching and personally participating has given him a great deal of knowledge, from which to launch Louisiana Running Company with friend, Jennifer L. Radecker in May 2010.

also a familiar figure to the New Orleans Metropolitan Area, she grew up and attended school locally at Mt. Carmel Academy, only a short distance from the store’s location. While enrolled in MCA, she established herself as a leader early, helping to lead her cross-country squad to four state titles (99-02). She also captured individual honors in 2001. After high school, Radecker went on to attend Louisiana State University, where she was a member of the women’s 4-time national championship track and field program, while simultaneously earning a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science with a minor in Psychology. In January 2008, shortly after graduation, Radecker began working for Fleet Feet Sports, the nation’s largest chain of specialty running stores, numbering 90 nationwide, and growing. In March 2009, Radecker was promoted to the rank of store manager for the Baton Rouge, Louisiana branch-location, where she served until October 2009. While holding this position as store manager, she was charged with the various day to day activities including, but not limited to: inventory, the training of employees, operation of jogging programs and run groups, and the initiation of store referrals from the various physicians and foot specialists across the Baton Rouge area. She also participated in one of the National Fleet Feet Conferences, having the opportunity to not only participate in the day to day functioning at the store level, as manager, but having the opportunity to observe the macro management schemata of this multi-billion dollar franchise while attending these corporate conferences.

She has remained active in her related field, continuing to train (completing two marathons one in 2008-Baton Rouge Beach and in 2009-Chicago), participating in Adventure Races with her team (BIke Zone), and to further herself in the knowledge needed for her up and coming store. She also received her Personal Training Certification (NSCA) in December 2009, and continues individual writing of personalized one-on-one programs.

Radecker’s management experience with Fleet Feet Sports, coupled with her life long association with the sport of running, gives her extensive experience in the realm of running and managing her own store, the knowledge to successfully deal with people - through her constant interactions with customers and the affiliated specialists that send customers her way. She also posses a great deal of knowledge in the pure essence of the sport, through the taking part and finding success personally within - while running for one of the most accomplished track and field programs of all time, and finally through her dealings with the mechanics involved in training through her certification with the NSCA.
